Service Design at Gothaer

Hey Laura, what do you need in life?

Our Service Design project with Gothaer, a major German insurance company, started in October 2017. 

The challenge

"We need new services and products for young adults."

The approach

To get started, together with the product development department, we further defined the challenge we wanted to work on. Based on that challenges our Service Design team got the job to dive into the lifes of 20 to 30 year-olds, doing intensive research about trends concerning young adults and interviewing young people (for example Laura), with different backgrounds to gather a lot of insights and to identify needs.

They identified roughly three fields of opportunities:

  • controll and flexibility
  • transparency and convinience
  • community and caring

Together with multidisciplinary team of the organization we went on into an innovation sprint to come up with new services and products in these three areas together. Three solutions were realized as functional prototypes by our Service Design team after the sprint. These solutions are now in further development.
